CANDIA — A single-vehicle rollover crash on Route 101 early this morning injured four people and caused a significant road closure, according to New Hampshire State Police.
Troopers were called to the scene near Candia at approximately 3:15 a.m. on April 23 following reports of a crash.
A preliminary investigation showed that a Toyota Camry, traveling eastbound, veered into the median and struck a raised rock cutout that divides the highway lanes.
The impact caused the vehicle to roll over multiple times before coming to rest in the eastbound lanes.
The Camry was then sideswiped by an oncoming vehicle, whose driver couldn’t spot the disabled car in the road.
A female passenger in the Camry suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a Boston hospital.
The driver and two other passengers were taken to Elliot Hospital in Manchester with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities closed the eastbound lanes of Route 101 for approximately three hours to investigate the crash.
The State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (CAR) Unit was called in to assist, along with Troop A, members of Troop B, the Candia Police Department, Candia Fire and Rescue, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
The names of the individuals involved have not been released, as police are still notifying their families and conducting a further investigation.
State Police are urging anyone with information about the crash or any witnesses to reach out to Trooper Tyler Dodds.
