MILO — A 53-year-old man was taken into custody Thursday evening after allegedly firing a gun at a family member on Pleasant River Road.
According to the Milo Police Department, Officer Spurgeon responded around 6:35 p.m. to a 911 call reporting the incident.
The victim claimed that his son-in-law, David Barry, had shot at him and reloaded his weapon after emptying the magazine.
No injuries were reported as the shots missed the intended target.
Barry, who was found to be intoxicated during the altercation, cooperated with authorities upon their arrival and was arrested without further incident.
Law enforcement officers removed several firearms from the residence for safety.
The Piscataquis County Jail is currently holding Barry on charges of attempted murder, attempted aggravated assault, domestic violence reckless conduct with a firearm, and domestic violence criminal threatening with a firearm.
The Milo Police Department acknowledged the assistance of the Dover-Foxcroft Police Department and the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office in responding to the situation.
