SOMERVILLE — Police responded to reports of shots fired and a subsequent vehicle crash on Alston St at approximately 6:31 p.m. Friday, where a juvenile was found with a non-fatal gunshot wound and taken to the hospital.
Officers at the scene also discovered an overturned and unoccupied vehicle.
A firearm was recovered from the vicinity of the crash.
Early findings suggest the vehicle’s occupants had been firing at pedestrians prior to the crash and fled once the vehicle overturned.
Additionally, a nearby home was struck by stray bullets, causing property damage, but no other injuries were reported.
The Somerville Police Department is actively investigating the incident and urges anyone with information to call 617-625-1600.
