LEBANON — The York County Sheriff’s Office is appealing to the public for help in identifying a good Samaritan who saved a driver from a burning vehicle after a crash on Long Swamp Road.

Deputies responded to the scene of the motor vehicle accident last night, where they found the vehicle had left the roadway and collided with a tree.

Initial reports indicated the driver was trapped inside as the vehicle caught fire.

By the time first responders arrived, the vehicle was ablaze, but the driver had been safely removed and was receiving medical attention.

The individual was later transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Witnesses at the scene informed the deputies that a passerby had courageously extracted the driver from the fiery wreckage.

However, the rescuer departed prior to the arrival of the authorities, and their identity remains unknown as none of the witnesses were able to provide a name or description.

The sheriff’s office is now seeking the assistance of the community to locate and recognize the brave individual who acted quickly and selflessly to save a life.

Anyone with information about the incident or the good Samaritan is encouraged to contact the York County Sheriff’s Office.
