NEWPORT — Registration for the 2024 season at the Bluffside Farm Community Gardens in Newport is now open.
Interested gardeners can secure a plot on a first-come, first-served basis for a fee of $75. The plots measure approximately 22’x22′, and water is available on-site. New plots will be tilled before the garden opens.
Limited scholarships are available for those who may need financial assistance. The Vermont Land trust notes that the costs of maintaining the garden exceed the revenue generated from plot fees and welcomes additional contributions to support garden maintenance and scholarship availability.
For gardeners interested in no-till gardening, a limited number of plots may be available in the no-till section of the garden. Inquiries about no-till plots can be made during the registration process.
The deadline to register for a plot is April 24.
To reserve a plot or for more information, interested individuals should contact Dan Kilborn, Lands Director at the Vermont Land Trust, via email at [email protected] or by phone at (802) 745-6303.
The Bluffside Farm Community Gardens offer a unique opportunity for community members to join a vibrant group of gardeners and cultivate their own fresh produce in a beautiful setting.
