WALTHAM — A late-night rollover car crash on High Street just east of Moody St resulted in one fatality and another person seriously injured, Waltham Police reported.
The accident occurred Sunday at approximately 11:43 p.m. when Waltham Police, Fire Department, and Armstrong Ambulance were called to the scene.
Upon arrival, first responders found a vehicle overturned with two occupants trapped inside.
Waltham Fire Department personnel managed to extricate both individuals from the wreckage.
They were transported to the Lahey Clinic by Armstrong Ambulance, where the driver was pronounced dead.
The passenger suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive.
The Waltham Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit, along with the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office, is investigating the single-vehicle crash.
Authorities have stated that the investigation is active and ongoing.
Officials have not released further information at this time.
