WELLFLEET — A 57-year-old Wellfleet man was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries of unknown severity after his 2021 GMC Sierra struck a telephone pole on Main Street, causing a widespread power outage Saturday night, authorities said.
The Wellfleet Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to 275 Main Street around 7:30 p.m. following reports of a motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, officers found the truck with significant front-end damage and a telephone pole, along with electrical wires, downed in the roadway.
The Truro Police Department provided assistance at the scene while emergency services attended to the incident and the resulting power disruption affected a large portion of the town.
The Wellfleet Police Department is currently investigating the cause of the accident.
