HAMDEN — A car fire on Route 15 southbound near exit 61 prompted emergency responders to close both lanes of traffic before Hero’s Tunnel on April 10.
The Hamden Fire Department was called to the scene at approximately 8 p.m. to extinguish the vehicle that had caught fire.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.
Motorists are advised to expect delays in the area while the fire department works to clear the scene.
Officials have not yet indicated when the lanes will be reopened.
Drivers are recommended to seek alternate routes to avoid the area.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
