RUTLAND — A Clarendon woman was taken into custody Saturday evening after Vermont State Police responded to a domestic disturbance and later found her driving under the influence.
Authorities received a report at approximately 4:08 p.m. of a domestic disturbance in Clarendon, where 51-year-old Joy M. Bruno reportedly caused bodily injury to a family member.
Bruno had left the scene before troopers arrived.
At about 6:54 p.m., with assistance from local citizens, police located Bruno operating a vehicle in the Green Mountain Plaza.
During the interaction, Bruno exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested for domestic assault, violation of conditions of release, suspicion of DUI, and operating a vehicle with a criminally suspended license.
Bruno was processed at the Rutland Barracks and subsequently held at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility on a $2,500 bail for the domestic assault and violation of conditions of release.
She is scheduled to appear before the Rutland County Superior Court, Criminal Division, on April 9 at 12:30 p.m. for these charges.
