MALDEN — A disturbance that began at Malden High School’s dismissal time escalated into a larger incident in Malden Square, leading to the arrest of three individuals on charges ranging from assault and battery on a police officer to disorderly conduct, police said.
The altercation took place around school release time at the intersection of Pleasant and Main streets, where officers assigned to monitor the dismissal encountered the initial disturbance.
As the situation grew, a request for mutual aid was made, resulting in numerous officers and detectives responding to the scene.
The Malden Police Department (MPD) reported that they were able to bring the incident under control without any injuries.
The individuals arrested face various charges, and no further details have been released since the investigation is ongoing, and one or more of the arrested parties are juveniles, according to MPD.
