WILLIMANTIC — Early morning violence erupted in a local apartment on April 8 when the Willimantic Police Department received a distress call at approximately 5 a.m. about a stabbing incident on Vermont Drive.
Responding officers discovered a victim with multiple stab wounds and provided emergency first aid until medical personnel arrived.
The injured individual was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Preliminary findings of the police investigation suggest that the attack was not random.
Authorities have determined that the victim and assailants were acquainted, indicating a targeted assault.
Several witnesses have been questioned, and potential suspects have been identified, but no arrests have been made as the suspects had already fled the scene.
