EAST BRIDGEWATER — East Bridgewater Police have taken two individuals into custody on drug-related offenses during patrols funded by the Edward J. Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program, Chief Michael Jenkins announced Thursday.
Anthony Pagano, 41, of Rockland, faces multiple charges including possession of a Class B substance (crack cocaine), possession of a Class B substance (cocaine), possession of a Class E substance (narcotics/gabapentin), and conspiracy to violate drug law.
Krista Marion Dewsnap, 34, of Woonsocket, RI, was arrested and charged with possession of a Class B substance (crack cocaine), possession of a Class B substance (cocaine), and conspiracy to violate drug law.
Dewsnap is also sought on active arrest warrants from another jurisdiction.
The arrests occurred on April 4 at approximately 2:17 p.m. after officers observed a vehicle at a known drug activity location.
East Bridgewater Police, with support from West Bridgewater Police detectives, monitored the vehicle and its occupants, Pagano and Dewsnap, for behavior indicative of drug transactions.
Upon conducting a traffic stop on West Union Street, Pagano, the driver, and Dewsnap, the passenger, were detained.
A K-9 unit from the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office was called to assist, and the subsequent search of Pagano’s vehicle uncovered crack cocaine within a small rubber container and capsules of Gabapentin.
Following their arrests, a search of Dewsnap revealed additional cocaine.
Both were booked at the East Bridgewater Police station.
Pagano and Dewsnap are scheduled for arraignment in Brockton District Court on Friday, April 5.
