HIGHGATE — Two local men were arrested early Thursday morning following a reported assault at a residence on Roberts Lane.
The Vermont State Police responded to the incident at approximately 3:21 a.m. and identified the suspects as Joseph Roberts and Christopher Fournier, both 23.
Upon arrival, troopers found both men at the scene and conducted an investigation into the allegations.
Roberts and Fournier were taken into custody, processed at the St. Albans Barracks, and subsequently released with criminal citations.
They are scheduled to appear in the Franklin County Court on May 28 at 8:30 a.m. to face charges of simple assault.
The Vermont State Police have not disclosed the name of the victim, adhering to their policy of protecting the identities of juvenile victims in criminal cases.
