POWNAL — Vermont State Police have issued an arrest warrant for an 18-year-old Massachusetts man in connection with a homicide that took place on Feb. 6 in Pownal.
Elizah Coppedge, of Chicopee, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Casey Gras, 36, of Bennington.
Authorities say Gras was fatally stabbed during what is believed to be a drug-related dispute.
A Bennington County Superior Court judge has ordered that Coppedge be held without bail upon his arrest.
Described as a Black man, Coppedge is 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 200 pounds, and has brown eyes and brown hair.
His last known location was in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, on the night of the incident.
The Vermont State Police are urging anyone with information about Coppedge’s whereabouts to contact their local police department or the Vermont State Police at the Shaftsbury barracks by calling 802-442-5421.
