BANGOR — Maine State Police reported Tuesday that a tractor-trailer accident on Interstate 95 near mile marker 183 northbound resulted in no injuries and the scene has since been cleared.
At approximately 8:56 a.m. on April 2, troopers were dispatched to two separate crashes.
According to the preliminary investigation, the driver of a tractor-trailer, identified as 45-year-old Lenin Martinez of Pennsylvania, lost control of his vehicle.
The tractor-trailer veered off the road to the left, struck cables in the median, then Martinez managed to steer it across both lanes to reach the breakdown lane.
The sudden stop of the tractor-trailer triggered a halt in traffic, leading to a secondary collision involving two other vehicles, one of which blocked the right lane at the juncture where I-395 merges with I-95.
To alleviate traffic congestion caused by the crashes, I-395 traffic was rerouted.
Despite the incidents, authorities confirmed that there were no injuries.
Traffic flow on I-95 has returned to normal following the cleanup and investigation.
