PITTSFIELD — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of committing an armed robbery at the Lipton Mart gas station on West Housatonic St.
The robbery occurred shortly before 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, when an unknown male entered the store and displayed a black handgun.
He fled with an undisclosed sum of money and several items.
Authorities believe the suspect approached from Barker Rd. and was last seen heading north on Britton St. toward the train tracks.
The suspect is described as a white male, between 5’8″ and 5’10″, with gray ripped jeans, black sneakers, and a blue “Patriots” short-sleeve hoodie over a red long-sleeve hoodie that has white paint stains on the sleeves.
He was also wearing red gloves, a white face mask, dark sunglasses, a gray hat with an oval shape on the front, and may have been wearing a fake nose.
The Pittsfield Police Department is urging residents and businesses in the vicinity of Barker Rd., West Housatonic St., Britton St., Merriam/South Merriam St., Catherine St., and Jason St. near the train tracks to review their surveillance footage for any potential evidence.
