NEW HAVEN — A pedestrian was struck and killed on Interstate 91 North late Monday night, prompting authorities to shut down a stretch of the highway.
The incident occurred near exit 9 in North Haven around 9:30 p.m. State police have closed I-91 North from exit 8 to exit 10 as they investigate the fatal accident.
Motorists heading northbound were diverted off the highway at exit 8.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim or the circumstances leading up to the incident.
