NEW HAVEN — A 19-year-old New Haven resident was admitted to Yale New Haven Hospital with gunshot wounds to his leg and hand after being shot near Orchard Street and Henry Street, police said.
The New Haven Police Department received notification from the hospital at 20 York Street at 9:44 p.m. on April 1 that the victim had arrived seeking medical attention.
Authorities reported that the victim was brought in by a friend and his injuries were not life-threatening.
Detectives have been dispatched to the scene and are actively pursuing leads to uncover the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
The police are urging witnesses or anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to come forward.
