BRATTLEBORO — A recent traffic stop led to a significant drug seizure by the Brattleboro Police Department, removing approximately 500 bags of fentanyl from potential street distribution.
During the routine stop, officers discovered the large quantity of the synthetic opioid, which has been linked to a rise in overdose deaths across the country.
The drugs seized have an estimated street value of $12,000, according to police reports.
The Brattleboro Police Department stated that this seizure means a substantial amount of the potent drug will not reach the local community.
