READING — A 17-year-old from Reading has been charged following a single-car crash late Thursday night, according to the Reading Police Department.
Police say they were called to Grove Street around 11:59 p.m. for reports of an accident.
Upon arrival, officers found a black pickup truck overturned on the lawn of a residential property.
The juvenile, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, is facing charges of negligent operation, marked lanes violation, and speeding greater than reasonable given the weather conditions.
During the initial investigation, authorities determined that the teen was driving at a high rate of speed which contributed to the crash.
The juvenile remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement officials, with his parents present.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, although the crash resulted in property damage.
