BURLINGTON — A New Hampshire man was cited early Thursday morning for driving nearly 40 mph over the speed limit on Interstate 89.
At 1 a.m., Vermont State Police clocked a Black Toyota Tundra traveling southbound at 95 mph near mile marker 88.2, where the posted speed limit is 55 mph.
Using LIDAR technology, troopers confirmed the vehicle’s excessive speed.
The driver, identified as 36-year-old Matthew St. Lawrence from Marlborough, NH, was subsequently pulled over.
After verifying his identity through his New Hampshire driver’s license, police issued St. Lawrence a citation.
St. Lawrence is scheduled to appear at the Chittenden County Superior Court to face the charge of Excessive Speed.
