WARDSBORO — A local contractor was cited for home improvement fraud after allegedly stealing deck railings from a client’s residence, Vermont State Police reported Tuesday.
Authorities were alerted to the incident at approximately 12:57 p.m. on Jan. 2 when John Siegrist, 50, of Wardsboro, reported that contractor Timothy Durkin, 49, also a Wardsboro resident, had taken railings from his deck.
During the investigation, it was discovered that Siegrist had contracted Durkin for home renovations, which Durkin failed to complete.
Durkin is scheduled to appear before the Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on April 16 at 8:30 a.m. to respond to the charges.
