VERGENNES — A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Vermont Route 17 W and Vermont Route 125 resulted in injuries and a citation for a local man on March 27.
Vermont State Police from the New Haven Barracks responded to the scene at approximately 5:03 p.m. after receiving reports of the collision.
The investigation revealed that Jonathon Deming, 65, of Vergennes, fell asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle, causing it to veer across the centerline and compel an oncoming vehicle to swerve off the road.
A female passenger from the second vehicle suffered injuries and was transported to UVM Medical Center.
Her injuries were reported as minor.
Deming has been charged with negligent operation due to his actions leading to the crash.
