NORTH BRANFORD — A man was found dead early Wednesday morning after an apparent hit-and-run incident on Foxon Road, according to the North Branford Police Department.
At 7:10 a.m., emergency responders were called to the scene near 97 Foxon Road, where they discovered the deceased male, believed to have been struck by a vehicle that then left the area.
The South Central Regional Accident Investigation Unit is currently investigating the scene.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim pending notification of his family.
The North Branford Police Department extends its deepest sympathies to his loved ones.
Foxon Road is closed between the East Haven town line and Totoket Road, and drivers are advised to seek alternate routes.
The police are urging anyone with information about the incident or anyone who may have witnessed it to come forward.
