Manchester man arrested for possession of stolen vehicle

HOOKSETT — A Manchester man was arrested after Hooksett Police officers found him with a stolen vehicle in a Walmart parking lot.

Andy Williams, 59, was observed acting suspiciously by Ofc. Gardyne and Ofc.

Peterson on March 26 around the vehicle, which had been reported stolen from Manchester the previous day.

When Williams noticed the officers, he left the vehicle and attempted to hide under a guardrail.

A brief foot chase followed before officers apprehended him with the keys to the stolen vehicle.

Williams faces charges including Receiving Stolen Property, a Class A felony; Receiving Stolen Property Subsequent, a Class A felony; and Resisting Arrest/Detention, a Class A misdemeanor.

Additionally, Williams had an outstanding warrant from Bedford Police for Theft by Unauthorized Taking, a Class B felony.

After refusing bail, Williams was transported to Merrimack County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned on the Hooksett Police charges on March 27.
