NEW LONDON — Authorities have identified Jamal Brooks as the deceased male in a domestic violence shooting that occurred on March 23 at 159 Hawthorne Drive.
The New London Police Department confirmed that notification of next of kin has been made for Brooks, who was born on April 26, 1992, and resided at the Hawthorne Drive address where the shooting took place.
The incident, which happened at 9:34 a.m., left a 30-year-old female victim in critical condition.
She is currently receiving medical attention at Yale New Haven Hospital.
The investigation into the shooting remains active as detectives continue to gather information.
