Manchester man arrested on narcotics and firearms charges

MANCHESTER — A collaborative operation involving the East Central Narcotics Task Force, the DEA Tactical Diversion Squad, and local police culminated in the arrest of a Manchester man on March 21 on multiple drug and firearms charges.

Karl Smith, 44, was taken into custody following the execution of two arrest warrants at his residence at 144 Campfield Street.

The warrants were issued as part of ongoing narcotics investigations targeting illicit drug sales.

Smith faces charges including the sale of narcotics, specifically MDMA and cocaine, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, operating a drug factory, possession of drug paraphernalia, and illegal possession of firearms.

He was held on a combined bond amounting to $700,000.

During Smith’s arrest, law enforcement officers seized a significant quantity of narcotics, three illegal firearms, and a sum of cash.

Additional charges are pending based on the items recovered at the scene.

The Manchester Police Department relies on community tips to combat narcotic activity.
