Adams police arrest driver for drug possession after K9 alert

ADAMS — In a routine traffic stop Monday night, Adams Police Department officers arrested a driver on drug charges with the assistance of K9 Bear.

At approximately 8:15 p.m. on March 18, officers pulled over a vehicle on Friend Street.

During the stop, officers determined there was a need to deploy K9 Bear, who signaled the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.

The driver, whose identity has not been released, was arrested and is facing charges including operating a vehicle after suspension, under Chapter 90 Section 23, and possession of Class B substance, specifically crack cocaine, under Chapter 94c Section 34.

The Adams Police Department expressed their gratitude to K9 Bear for his role in the incident, highlighting the importance of police dogs in their law enforcement efforts.

The suspect is currently awaiting arraignment, and further details on the case are pending.
