WINOOSKI — A three-vehicle crash on Interstate 89 southbound near mile marker 89.8 in Winooski on Tuesday, March 19, resulted in two drivers being cited for following too closely.
At approximately 10:57 a.m., troopers from the Williston Barracks responded to the collision.
An investigation determined that a 2021 Ford F-250, operated by Tyre Nokian, 46, of Colchester, had slowed due to merging traffic as the interstate was reduced to one lane for ongoing roadway construction.
Nokian’s vehicle was then rear-ended by a 2014 Hyundai Accent driven by Linda Stone, 81, of South Burlington.
Stone’s vehicle was subsequently rear-ended by a 2020 Nissan Rogue operated by Brittany Trayah, 31, of Burlington.
No injuries were reported in the collision.
The Hyundai Accent sustained moderate damage, while the Nissan Rogue and Ford F-250 experienced minor damage.
Both Stone and Trayah were issued Vermont Civil Violation Complaints pursuant to Title 23 VSA 1039 for following too closely.
