MANCHESTER — Police arrested a 25-year-old man after a fight in Arms Park led to a high-speed chase and a vehicle crash on March 14.
Officers responded to a report of a fight at the park shortly before 8 p.m. and observed several males appearing ready to engage in a fight.
As police approached, two men entered vehicles.
Sergio Torres, Jr of Manchester, ignored officers’ commands to stop and drove out of the parking lot, hitting an officer’s foot with his car.
Another officer later saw Torres’ vehicle speeding on Commercial Street.
The pursuit ended when Torres crashed at the intersection of Commercial and Canal Streets and fled on foot.
A K9 unit tracked Torres to the Eversource parking lot where he was found hiding.
In addition to Torres’ arrest, police also attended to a man at Arms Park who had been assaulted by a group, sustaining facial, head, and rib injuries.
Torres faces charges including Reckless Conduct – Deadly Weapon, Riot, Disobeying an Officer, 1st and 2nd Degree Assault, and Conduct After an Accident.
