Local students excel in higher education, garner academic accolades

NEWPORT–– The fall semester of 2023 was a season of exceptional academic and athletic achievements for students from our area, with several earning prestigious honors from their respective colleges and universities.

Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts, has recognized a trio of Newport students on its fall 2023 dean’s list. Leading the group is Lillian Fauteux, who is making strides in the field of nursing. Joining her are Peyton Gilson, studying psychology and criminal justice, and Brett Roy, focused on criminal justice. Their inclusion on the list reflects their dedication to academic excellence in their varied fields of study.

Charles Krebs of Craftsbury Common has brought pride to his hometown by securing a spot on the dean’s list at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. This achievement at one of the nation’s prestigious universities is a clear indicator of Charles’s commitment and academic prowess.

Over in Rochester, New York, Cayde Micknak of Derby has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2023 semester at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Cayde’s accomplishment is a mark of high academic standards and consistent effort in his coursework.

Adding to the list of local achievers, Tia-Marie Martinez of Orleans has been inducted into the Athletic Director’s 3.0 Club at American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts. This special recognition is awarded to student-athletes who excel academically, balancing their rigorous sporting commitments with their studies.
