ADAMS — Authorities warned residents Tuesday after officers discovered about a dozen used needles and drug paraphernalia at Reid Field’s playground.
The Adams Police Department urged the public not to handle the needles but to immediately report any such findings to them for safe removal.
This incident has raised concerns about public safety, especially for children who frequent the playground area.
Community members are reminded that used needles can be safely dropped off at the Tapestry-Syringe Access Program located at 6 W Main Street in North Adams.
The program provides a place where individuals can dispose of needles responsibly and without risk to others.
The Adams Police Department is investigating the incident and has increased patrols around Reid Field to prevent further occurrences.
