ADAMS — A man wielding a large sword in the vicinity of a 7/11 store was arrested on charges of heroin possession, Adams Police Department officers reported Saturday.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:17 p.m. when officers responded to a call about a male individual brandishing the weapon.
Upon arrival, police were able to secure the sword without incident and discovered the individual was also in possession of heroin.
The Adams Police Department expressed gratitude to the community for their assistance and vigilance, which helped to swiftly address the situation.
The identity of the man has not been released pending further investigation.
Charges related to the sword and drug possession are expected to follow.
