Johnson man arrested for aggravated domestic assault, reckless endangerment

JOHNSON — Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a domestic dispute with shots fired on March 8, leading to the arrest of a local man, authorities said.

Deputies from the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department, alongside officers from the Vermont State Police and the Morristown Police Department, arrived at the scene around 2 p.m. after receiving reports of the incident.

The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Rasheem Richards of Johnson, was taken into custody without incident.

He faces charges of first-degree aggravated domestic assault and reckless endangerment.

Following his arrest, Richards was held without bail and transported to the Northeast Correctional Complex in St. Johnsbury.

He was arraigned in Lamoille County Court on March 11 to answer to the charges.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and further details have yet to be released.
