NASHUA — A Nashua man was arrested by local police on a felony warrant for multiple counts of sexual assault, authorities announced today.
Joseph Paulauskas, 23, of 21 Amble Road, was charged with Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault, Special Felony, following a report from a female acquaintance alleging she was assaulted by Paulauskas at his residence on the evening of March 9.
Detectives from the Special Investigations Division of the Nashua Police Department took over the case and, after a thorough investigation, were granted an arrest warrant for Paulauskas, adding charges of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault-Domestic Violence, Special Felony.
In addition to the initial charge, Paulauskas faces two more counts of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault-Domestic Violence, Special Felony, and two counts of Domestic Violence-Simple Assault, Class A Misdemeanor.
Each Special Felony count carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in state prison.
Following his arrest, Paulauskas was held on Preventative Detention at the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections.
He is scheduled for arraignment at the 9th Circuit-District Division-Nashua Court on March 11 at 1 p.m.
