CHARLTON — A man was arrested Friday afternoon after allegedly pointing a gun at another motorist during a road rage incident on Rte. 20.
Police received a 911 call at approximately 4:30 p.m. from a driver who reported that someone in another vehicle had pointed a firearm at him while he was traveling westbound on Rte. 20.
The caller provided a description of the suspect and the vehicle he was driving.
All on-duty officers responded to the area, while the reporting party remained on the line providing updates.
The suspect vehicle made several U-turns on Rte. 20, each being reported by the victim to dispatch.
Officers located the vehicle on Rte. 20 westbound between Center Depot Road and Brookfield Road, where they conducted a high-risk traffic stop.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident, and officers located a 9mm pistol in his vehicle.
The suspect was transported to Charlton Police Headquarters, where he was booked and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, disturbing the peace, and disorderly conduct.
