NEWPORT — In a closely contested D2 State Championship game in Barre on Saturday, the NCUHS girls basketball team suffered a narrow defeat, falling 55-50 to Fair Haven.
The Falcons, showcasing a commendable team effort, concluded their season with an impressive 21-3 record.
Sabine Brueck led Newport’s scoring efforts with 14 points, followed by Maya Auger with 10 points. Josi Fortin contributed 9 points, and Aaliyah Wilburn added 7 points in the hard-fought game.
Despite their valiant efforts, the Falcons were unable to overcome Fair Haven’s strong performance.
