PLYMOUTH — A Plymouth man was arrested early Saturday morning, March 9, on multiple counts of assault to murder and other felony charges following a shooting incident on North Spooner Street.
At approximately 1:47 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunshots and discovered that multiple residential dwellings had been struck by gunfire.
A bullet entered one home through a window and lodged in the family room ceiling, while multiple bullets struck a second dwelling, with one going through a window.
None of the occupants were injured.
Investigation revealed that Joshua Fitzgerald, 25, of Plymouth, had been involved in an argument and physical altercation outside a downtown bar with occupants of one of the targeted dwellings.
Fitzgerald then drove to North Spooner Street and began shooting at the residence.
Officers located Fitzgerald on his front porch, but he retreated inside before exiting to the backyard.
As he walked away from officers, he dropped a pistol and was taken into custody without further incident.
Fitzgerald faces numerous charges, including four counts of assault to murder while armed with a firearm, seven counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a firearm without a license, and possession of cocaine.
He is being held on $10,000 bail at the Plymouth County Correctional Facility.
