Worcester police arrest man for cocaine trafficking

WORCESTER — A search warrant executed by Worcester Police Vice Squad officers on a Vernon Street residence led to the arrest of a 69-year-old man on charges of cocaine trafficking early Saturday morning.

At approximately 6:35 a.m., officers entered the residence and detained James Washington, the target of the warrant.

During the search, police found several bags of substances believed to be cocaine and crack cocaine, digital scales, and various packaging materials.

Washington is facing charges of trafficking in a Class B substance, specifically 37-99 grams, and possession of a Class A substance with intent to distribute.

The arrest marks a significant step in local law enforcement efforts to combat drug trafficking in the area.
