West Rutland man faces multiple charges in domestic assault case

RUTLAND — A local man was arrested on charges of second-degree aggravated domestic assault among other violations on March 3 after Vermont State Police responded to an incident that occurred earlier that day.

Troopers from the Rutland Barracks were notified of an assault at around 8 p.m. which had taken place at approximately 5 a.m. in West Rutland.

Alexander Keefe, 40, was identified as the accused in the assault against a family or household member.

The investigation determined that Keefe had inflicted pain or injury and had violated several conditions of his release.

Additionally, he was charged with interfering with access to emergency services.

Following the arrest, Keefe was processed at the Rutland State Police Barracks.

He received new court-ordered conditions of release and was subsequently detained at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility where he is being held without bail.

The Vermont State Police have not disclosed the identity of the victim, in accordance with their policy on domestic violence and sexual assault cases.
