PEPPERELL — Pepperell Police Department’s Chief Todd Blain announced the arrest of two individuals on drug distribution and firearm charges following a search warrant executed with support from the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC).
James Farrar, 55, and Christine Shank, 51, both of Pepperell, were taken into custody Thursday after officers and a NEMLEC SWAT team found multiple illegal substances and firearms at their residence at 56 Nashua Road.
The operation was conducted with NEMLEC’s assistance due to the suspected presence of firearms in the home.
Farrar is charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug, possession of a Class E drug, and possession of Class E drugs.
Shank faces charges of possession with intent to distribute Class B and Class D drugs, possession of a Class C drug, unlawful possession of a firearm without a license on two counts, and possession of ammunition without a Firearms Identification Card on two counts.
Following the raid, both suspects were arraigned Friday in Ayer District Court.
Chief Blain expressed gratitude towards NEMLEC and other law enforcement agencies that helped carry out the search, emphasizing the collaborative effort.
As the judicial process moves forward, it’s important to note that these charges are allegations, and both Farrar and Shank are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
