The blaze, initially believed to be a shed fire attached to the home of Terry and Joyce Hebert, quickly escalated, fully engulfing the structure by the time firefighters arrived.

Newport City Police were first at the scene, witnessing the spread from shed to home. The fire department managed to control the blaze, saving the main house, though it suffered significant water and interior damage.
