SHREWSBURY — A local man was arrested on charges of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child, following an investigation by Vermont State Police, authorities said Monday.
Patrick Angstadt, 41, of Shrewsbury, was taken into custody on March 1 after a probe by the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations Unit.
The investigation began on Feb. 5 when the Vermont Department of Children and Families reported a possible sexual assault against a child to the state police.
Detectives carried out a detailed investigation over several weeks, which led to the arrest of Angstadt.
He faces two counts of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child, a crime that state police take seriously in their commitment to protect the community’s most vulnerable members.
Angstadt is expected to appear in court to face the charges.
The date of the hearing was not immediately available.
