DUXBURY — Police in Duxbury are investigating the disappearance of key evidence from a Saw Mill Road residence related to a violent crime that occurred on Feb. 28 in Plymouth.
Duxbury detectives, responding to a request for assistance from Plymouth police, arrived at the scene to find that someone had already entered the home and removed several items, including what was believed to be a handgun.
Witnesses reported seeing two males leaving the residence on foot, and although a search was conducted by the Plymouth County Sheriff along with Pembroke Police K-9 units and officers from both Duxbury and Pembroke, the suspects were not located.
Surveillance footage later revealed that the individuals were likely picked up by a vehicle.
Further investigation by Plymouth detectives identified the missing weapon as a “Pepper Ball Gun,” which resembles a real firearm.
The Duxbury Police, under the direction of Chief Michael Carbone, have seized multiple items from the residence for evidence.
The incident remains under active investigation with pending charges once the suspects are identified.
