SPRINGFIELD — A local woman was taken into custody early Thursday morning after police executed an active in-state arrest warrant at her residence.
Springfield Police Department reported that Tara Stone, the defendant, was located at her home on Feb. 22 at 8:33 a.m. Ofc. Singleton, the investigating officer, confirmed that Stone had an outstanding arrest warrant issued in Vermont.
Following her arrest, Stone was issued a criminal citation and is scheduled to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on Friday to respond to the charges.
The department’s press release did not disclose the specific allegations that led to the issuance of the arrest warrant.
Stone’s arrest is part of the police department’s ongoing efforts to address outstanding warrants in the community.
