HIGHGATE SPRINGS — Vermont State Police arrested a 27-year-old Rhode Island man at the Highgate Port of Entry on Saturday evening for violating an abuse prevention order.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection notified police on Feb. 25 at approximately 6:51 p.m. that Anelka Ameka of Cranston, Rhode Island, was in violation of the order.
Vermont State Police located Ameka at the port of entry and placed him under arrest.
Ameka was released with a citation to appear in Franklin County Superior Court on March 26 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charge of violating an abuse prevention order.
