DERBY — Jed’s Maple Products announces its 25th Annual Sugar on Snow Party and Maple Open House, set for March 23 and 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. This event coincides with the Vermont statewide Maple Open House, marking a festive celebration of Spring and Vermont’s first crop of the year.

The event, a cornerstone in the community for a quarter of a century, originated as a thank-you gesture to friends and family who supported Jed’s Maple in its initial sugaring season. Over the years, it has evolved into a cherished community tradition, signaling the onset of spring. Visitors are encouraged to dress warmly as most activities are held outdoors.

This year’s celebration is particularly special as it also aligns with the 30th anniversary of the Northeast Kingdom Mustard Company, a part of the Jed’s family. The Mustard Company’s year-long celebration features a product of the month and unique recipes, with updates available on Jed’s Maple NEKMC social media platforms.

Families attending the Sugar on Snow Party can expect a delightful array of activities including sugar on snow, wood-fired maple pizza, specialty food sampling, and numerous children’s activities such as button making, coloring, and story time. The event also promises a nostalgic touch with throwback products like Maple Biscuits and an introduction to new offerings.

Jed’s Maple Products, a certified organic sugaring operation, is known for its innovative use of high-pressure steam in their evaporator, replacing traditional wood or oil. The operation includes a commercial kitchen where most specialty foods are produced, and a gift shop open six days a week offering tours, tastings, and more. School groups can also enjoy educational field trips by appointment.
