SEEKONK — A routine traffic stop for a registration violation led to the arrest of an armed and dangerous suspect on Saturday, according to the Seekonk Police Department.
Patrolman Hood initiated the stop and, during a probable cause search, discovered a Taurus 1911 .45 caliber handgun.
The operator, who has several non-extraditable out-of-state warrants and is known to be armed and dangerous, was arrested for possession of a firearm without a License to Carry (LTC).
The identity of the suspect has not been released pending further investigation.
The Seekonk Police Department continues to investigate the incident and asks anyone with information to come forward.
