Multiple arrests made by police over the weekend in Providence

PROVIDENCE — On Sunday, February 18, at 1:15 p.m., troopers arrested Christen Auger, 34, of Pawtucket, on charges of Animal Cruelty following a motor vehicle stop on Edna Street.

The arrest, based on a warrant from the Woonsocket Police Department, led to Auger being processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and subsequently handed over to Woonsocket Police.

Later that day, at 2:35 p.m., Hector Torres, 23, from Woonsocket, was arrested for driving with a suspended license under special circumstances.

This arrest occurred on Harris Avenue and involved processing at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, followed by an arraignment and release pending a court date.

The evening saw further action as Troopers arrested Vanessa Potter, 33, of Central Falls, at 8:17 p.m. Potter faced a Kent County Superior Court bench warrant for failing to appear at a hearing on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule I-V, and a Providence Superior Court bench warrant for Technical Violation on a charge of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.

The arrest was made after troopers responded to a report of a road walker on Route 95. Potter was processed at Lincoln Woods Barracks before being transported to the Adult Correctional Institution Women’s Intake Center.

Early Monday, February 19, at 1:22 a.m., Carlos De Almeida, 44, of Providence, was arrested for driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a chemical test after a vehicle stop on Route 95.

He was processed, arraigned, and released into the custody of a responsible adult.

Similarly, at 2:40 a.m., Michael Wrzesniak, 54, from Cumberland, faced identical charges following a stop on Route 6. Wrzesniak was also processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned, and released to a responsible adult.
