MALDEN — Authorities are requesting public assistance in identifying an individual suspected of stealing alcoholic beverages from a business in the Malden Center area on Feb. 12.
Malden Police responded to the theft report around 6 p.m. after a local business owner reported the incident.
CCTV footage revealed a person allegedly taking 2-3 bottles of alcohol without paying for them.
Officials acknowledge that the rush to prepare for the impending storm on the day of the theft might have affected people’s judgment.
They suggest that the individual in the surveillance images may have inadvertently forgotten to pay for the items while leaving the store.
The Malden Police Department urges the person in the CCTV stills or anyone who recognizes them to come forward to rectify the situation by contacting the department regarding report number 24000639.
